Charles Clore Park is a waterfront green space in southern Tel Aviv, between the city’s beaches and Old Jaffa. Its broad lawns, seaside paths and open views make it a good stop for a walk, a picnic or a bike ride along the coast. Come in the evening to watch the sun set over the water and Jaffa. Families can use the playground, while joggers, kite flyers and people exercising find room across the park. There is little tree cover, so bring sun protection if you plan to stay in the middle of the day.

A park between Tel Aviv and Jaffa

Charles Clore Park

Charles Clore Park follows the Mediterranean shoreline in southern Tel Aviv, between Alma Beach to the south and Banana Beach to the north. The open grass and beach sit side by side, with Old Jaffa visible along the coast. The park opened to the public in 1974 and takes its name from Charles Clore, a British financier and philanthropist.

The grounds occupy the site of Manshiyya, an area between Tel Aviv and Jaffa that was transformed into a new financial district. Today, the park’s waterfront setting gives you a green place to pause between the city and the sea. It is also close to Carmel Market and the Carmelit bus station, making it possible to combine a park visit with time in the market area.

Walking, cycling and time outdoors

Paths and broad sidewalks run through the park beside the coast. You can take a casual walk, jog or ride a bicycle along the seaside route. The lawns give you space to sit, read, stretch or lay out a picnic, while the shoreline draws people who want to watch and listen to the waves. Kite flying, football and other outdoor activities also take place here.

Families can make use of the playground, which includes a rope pyramid and a water fountain. The park also has sports and exercise facilities, including a small area of workout equipment, as well as picnic tables and barbecue grills. Some visitors come for yoga or stretching outdoors. The open layout is part of the appeal, but it also means shade is scarce: there are few trees or other shelters across the lawns.

Sunset, events and practical details

The park is a popular place to settle in as the day ends, with views across the water towards Old Jaffa. It can also be a lively setting for gatherings and events. Eat Tel Aviv Food Festival has taken place here, and the park was a site for the annual Tel Aviv Pride Parade party. Families and groups may gather for picnics and barbecues, so the atmosphere can change with the day and occasion.

The park is listed as open around the clock. For a calmer walk, choose the morning; for the coastal light, plan to be there near sunset. If you stay after dark, take care around the rocks by the beach. The grounds have public restrooms, and a nearby gas station has been noted as a place to find snacks.
