Legoland Castle Hotel

Legoland Castle Hotel is a family hotel beside Legoland California in Carlsbad, north of San Diego. Its rooms follow knights-and-dragons or wizard themes, with a separate space for children and Lego to play with. A room-based scavenger hunt leads to a small prize, while the courtyard has a playground and nightly entertainment. The stay also includes breakfast and early access to the park. Choose it if you want the children’s activities and a short walk to Legoland; dinner at the hotel can be costly.

Rooms and the in-room hunt

Choose between knights-and-dragons and wizard themes. Rooms have a separate children’s area, and some include bunk beds with an extra pull-out bed. Lego bricks and a themed night light give kids something to explore after the park. A scavenger hunt in the room leads to a small Lego prize, so leave time to solve it after check-in.

The hotel’s play areas extend beyond the room. Lego building bricks are available in the lobby and courtyard, where children can play while adults check in or wait for a table. Complete minifigures can be traded for figures displayed at the front desk and gift shop.

Courtyard entertainment and park access

The courtyard is a hub for family activities, with a playground, a pool and nightly entertainment. Shows include interactive storytelling, and scheduled activities give children more to do after a day at Legoland. The hotel is beside the park, with a direct walk between breakfast and the entrance, and a stay includes early park access.

Breakfast is included and has a range of options. Busy periods can bring a wait, so factor that into your morning plans. Dinner at the hotel can be expensive; nearby restaurants and the cafe in the opposite Legoland hotel are other options. If you are sensitive to noise, request a room away from the courtyard television and entertainment.
