SONGEUN Art and Cultural Foundation

SONGEUN Art and Cultural Foundation is a non-profit contemporary art space on Dosan-daero in Gangnam, Seoul. Swiss architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron designed its angular, monolithic 11-storey building, which opened in late 2021. Inside, exhibitions focus on emerging Korean and international artists, with work spanning painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video and sound. SONGEUN Art and Cultural Foundation is a non-profit cultural space in Seoul’s Gangnam district. Swiss architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron designed its 11-storey building, which opened in late 2021. Its angular, monolithic form gives the gallery a distinctive presence among the district’s buildings.

The foundation’s work centres on contemporary art from Korea and abroad. The venue has hosted exhibitions by emerging artists and presentations drawn from international collections. Its programme connects local artists with work and ideas from beyond South Korea.
