The collection includes documents, paintings, letters, costumes, models and scene drawings. Photographs and paintings hang around the theatre, and costumes from different productions are on display. Together, these objects trace the history of Danish theatre through its performances and the people who made them.

The small café is in the lobby, with a balcony overlooking Christiansborg Palace and the surrounding area. A bookshop is also mentioned as part of the museum.

Guided visits and the palace pass

A guided tour takes place on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. If you want to visit more of Christiansborg, a standard pass covers the palace interior, kitchens, stables and Theatre Museum. Seeing those areas takes several hours, so plan your day around the additional palace stops rather than treating them as a brief add-on.
