Orlando Science Center is a hands-on science museum in Loch Haven Park, just north of downtown Orlando. Its four floors bring together interactive exhibits on Florida wildlife, dinosaurs, weather, space, engineering and food sustainability, with activities for children and adults. Try the hurricane simulator, explore the DinoDigs fossil displays or visit NatureWorks to learn about local ecosystems and see live animals. Planetarium programs and giant-screen films add a quieter way to explore science. Check the current schedule before you go, since traveling exhibits and special events change over time.

Four floors of hands-on science

Orlando Science Center is in Loch Haven Park, just north of downtown. Its exhibits turn topics such as physics, biology, technology and natural history into activities you can try. In the Kinetic Zone, explore forces such as gravity and motion. Other displays cover weather, engineering, the human body and the way food is produced and made more sustainable.

The exhibits change over time. Alongside permanent spaces, the center hosts touring displays and limited-run programs, so the selection can differ between visits. Check the current schedule before setting out if there is a particular exhibit you want to see.

Dinosaurs, Florida wildlife and younger children

DinoDigs focuses on prehistoric life, with fossil displays and activities that let children dig for fossils. NatureWorks introduces wildlife, plants and ecosystems found in Central Florida, including reptiles, amphibians and sea life. Live animal encounters and demonstrations add another way to learn about the natural world.

KidsTown is designed for younger visitors, with play-based activities for early learners. Its areas have included imaginative play, a play theater, a climbing structure and a splash area. Toddler Town is intended for children aged two and under. These dedicated spaces make the center a practical choice for families with preschoolers as well as school-age children.

Films, planetarium programs and evening events

The Dr. Phillips CineDome screens giant-format films and science programs, while planetarium shows take visitors beyond Earth. The Crosby Observatory has a public telescope for viewing the night sky during scheduled programs. Observatory access and special events depend on the calendar, so check the center's website for current details.

Some programs are aimed at adults. Science Night Live and OSC After Dark are examples of after-hours events that have included themed activities, workshops and speakers. The center also hosts special events throughout the year. These programs are separate from the regular daytime experience, and their schedules can change.
