Mokulēʻia Beach Park is a North Shore beach in Waialua, with white sand, reef, tide pools and a grassy picnic area. Snorkelers may spot sea turtles and fish close to shore, while kite surfers and windsurfers cross the water offshore. Monk seals may also be seen resting on the beach; watch wildlife from a distance. The reef makes some spots rocky, and winter waves can be large, so this is better suited to shoreline walks and wildlife watching than a carefree swim.

Mokulēʻia faces the Pacific and can be windy and choppy. The reef offers some protection, but rocks and changing surf still make swimming hazardous. Summer is the safer season for swimming in some areas; conditions are not guaranteed to be calm.

Winter brings large waves, including beyond the outer reef. The beach is better approached as a place to watch the ocean or walk the shoreline unless you are an experienced swimmer.
