Kamaole Beach Park III sits on South Kihei Road in Maui, at the southern end of the three Kamaole beaches. A sandy cove, broad grassy lawn and playground give you room to swim, picnic or let children play. Snorkel near the rocky outcrops, where tropical fish and occasional sea turtles can be spotted, or settle on the grass for sunset. Restrooms, outdoor showers, picnic tables and a lifeguard tower add useful facilities. The beach is smaller than its two neighbours, and sunset is a popular time to visit.

The rocky areas are the place to look for tropical fish while snorkeling. Sea turtles are sometimes spotted in the water, particularly near the rocky sections. Give wildlife space, and keep dogs on a leash as you move around the park.

Mornings are often calmer; wind can build by late morning. Conditions can change, and waves may become stronger, so check the water before swimming or snorkeling. The grassy slope above the beach is another place to spend time, especially when you want a view without being on the sand.
