The summit has a park and walking paths, so you can stay for a short stroll after the ride or spend time outdoors. Restaurants are also located at the top, making it possible to combine the viewpoint with a meal.

For a walk uphill instead, one route follows a forest road that later becomes a regular road. The climb takes around 20 to 25 minutes to reach the road below the funicular, then continues for another 500 metres to the summit. The route is elevated and takes some effort.

Choosing when to go

A morning visit gives you time to walk around the park, while sunset brings a chance to watch the city lights appear. Clear weather makes it easier to see across Bilbao and the surrounding landscape.

The station entrance can take a moment to locate. Queues may form, and the cars can become hot in warm weather, so consider the conditions before travelling. You can use a Barik card for the ride; check current fares before your visit.
