Its permanent collection focuses on 20th-century Sardinian artists, including Giuseppe Biasi and Antonio Ballero, while temporary exhibitions bring in artists and ideas from beyond the island. The permanent collection includes works by Sardinian artists Giuseppe Biasi and Antonio Ballero, among others. Temporary exhibitions have covered international artists and subjects including street photography, Italian Futurism, Paul Klee and the Russian avant-garde. Contemporary Sardinian artists also appear in side exhibitions.

Past shows have included photography by Guido Guidi in Sardinia and an exhibition on Antonio Ballero and Giuseppe Pellizza. A show about the two artists explored Ballero’s contact with Pellizza’s Divisionism and his later change in style. The programme changes regularly, so the current exhibition is a useful guide to what you will see on the day.

Planning your visit

MAN is a small museum, and the amount of exhibition space open can vary. Some visits have had only one floor or a single gallery available, so check the current display and access arrangements before you go. The museum recommends booking ahead.

Exhibition texts may be lengthy, and not all are in English. English translations have been available for some shows. The museum has a wheelchair-accessible entrance and restroom.
