Singsing Waterfall

Singsing Waterfall is near Bali’s northern coast, in Buleleng Regency, surrounded by tropical forest.

Singsing Waterfall is near Bali’s northern coast, in Buleleng Regency, surrounded by tropical forest. The falls are a modest-sized stop, with a pool for swimming and lava-stone pools below the water. A second waterfall, Sing Sing Dua, is nearby and is often the more rewarding of the two, though reaching it can mean a steep climb or an overgrown staircase. Water flow changes with the season, so the falls are fuller in the wet season. The Sing Sing Resort has a route to the second falls and a meal stop with a view of the coast.

The two waterfalls

Singsing Waterfall

Singsing Waterfall is a smaller cascade near Bali’s northern coast. A pool below the falls makes it a place to cool off when conditions permit, and the water has formed pools among the lava stone. The amount of water changes by season: in the wet season, the falls can run strongly, while in drier conditions the flow may be slight.

Sing Sing Dua is the nearby second waterfall. Routes to it are not all alike. Some involve a steep climb along the canyon; another route descends from the back of Sing Sing Resort. The resort staircase can be overgrown, and the final approach may require climbing. Heavy water can also make crossing between the falls difficult, so do not assume the route will be passable on the day.

Choosing a route

The resort route gives you a place to ask about access before setting out. The staircase begins behind the resort, near the bar and lookout, and leads toward the second falls. Conditions on the steps and path can be rough, with weeds and mosquitoes reported. Insect repellent is useful, and extra care is sensible after rain.

A separate path leads to the falls through the surrounding area, but directions can be unclear. If you are not confident finding the way or assessing the conditions, seek local assistance rather than setting out alone. The approaches differ in difficulty, and the steeper route may be challenging in wet weather.

A stop at Sing Sing Resort

The resort is a practical base for asking about the waterfall route. It also has a restaurant overlooking the North coast, so you can make a meal part of the visit. Buying lunch there is one way to support the staff while using the staircase access. The view and meal can round out a waterfall stop, especially if you plan to spend time in the area.
