Royal Palace Park is a public green space in front of Phnom Penh’s Royal Palace, beside the riverside. Its paths and gardens give you a place to pause near the palace’s golden architecture and the river, with room to walk, sit or take photos. Locals come to relax and gather with family, and food vendors add Khmer dishes and drinks along the riverfront. Pair a stroll here with the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda complex, but check which areas are open because construction has affected access.
A green space beside the palace

Royal Palace Park sits directly in front of the Royal Palace, close to the riverfront. The rectangular green space measures about 115 by 74 metres, with trees around its edges. People use it to walk, sit in the shade, picnic and let children play on the grass.
The park gives you a view of the palace grounds and nearby royal architecture without needing to enter the palace buildings. The Royal Palace itself is Cambodia’s official royal residence, and parts of its complex are open to visitors. The adjoining Silver Pagoda is also part of the palace area.
Continue along the riverfront

The park connects naturally with a riverside walk along Sisowath Quay. Starting farther north gives you more time to stroll beside the water and watch local life along the promenade. The route runs toward the Riverside Park near the Night Market.
In the late afternoon and evening, families gather by the river, and food and drink sellers set up nearby. National celebrations can bring fireworks over the river. Construction has sometimes closed parts of the park or palace grounds, so keep your plans flexible if you want to see more than the public green space.
