The museum organizes its exhibits around three themes: Women in the Family, Women in History and Women's Fashion. Together, they cover customs at home, women's work and clothing, as well as their public and political roles.

Sections on family life include marriage and childbirth traditions. Displays on rural life and farming add detail about work beyond the home. The themes bring together everyday experience and the larger events that shaped women's lives.

Traditional garments and textiles are among the museum’s most detailed displays. Costumes and woven fabrics from different ethnic groups show varied regional styles and craftsmanship. Photographs and objects accompany the clothing, giving visitors a closer look at the materials and their place in daily and ceremonial life.

The exhibits also include ceremonial costumes connected with mother goddess worship. Together, the clothing and ritual objects offer a view of cultural practices across Vietnam’s communities.

Women in war and public life

The history exhibits tell of women who served in military and underground roles during Vietnam’s independence and anti-imperialist wars. Their stories sit alongside accounts of everyday women living through wartime, giving the displays both a national and personal perspective.

Photographs, artifacts, descriptions and personal accounts help explain the lives behind the historical events. The focus is on women's contributions and the different ways they took part in public life and resistance.
