Set in Phuket’s old post office on Montri Road, the Phuket Philatelic Museum traces Thailand’s postal history through stamp displays and postal memorabilia. The building is part of the visit: look for its fluted pillars, oak windows and tiled hip roof. Inside, exhibits cover stamps and the country’s postal service, with old post-office equipment and photo props. Entry is free, and you can buy collector’s stamps next door to the current post office. The museum is small, so it fits easily into a Phuket Old Town walk.

The museum occupies Phuket’s old post office on Montri Road, next to the current post office. The building is a historic landmark in its own right. Its white exterior has fluted pillars, oak windows and a hip roof decorated with Chinese tiles. The former post and telegraph office is also noted for its West Coast architectural style.

Inside, the displays focus on Thailand’s postal service and stamp history. Exhibits include postal equipment and memorabilia, with old phones and post-office setups among the items visitors can see. Some displays use printed panels, alongside stamp collections.

The museum’s small collection makes this a brief stop rather than a long visit. Stamp collectors can browse commemorative stamps for sale, and the adjacent post office is convenient if you have mailing to do. Photo props provide another way to engage with the old post-office setting.

The building needs care in places, and some flooring is uneven or damaged. Take care as you move through the rooms. There is limited cooling, so a light outfit and water can make the visit more comfortable.
