The Church of the Intercession in Fili is one of Moscow’s surviving monuments from the late 17th century. Its Naryshkin Baroque architecture sets it apart, with a five-tiered central layout and distinctive arrangements of the cupolas. Ukrainian architectural influence can be seen in the cupola design.

The church’s setting gives you space to take in its exterior. A small green park nearby provides a view of the building and Moscow City, and the site is used for photographs, weddings and baptisms.

The church has two parts with different visiting opportunities. The upper temple is under museum management and contains exhibits; it is open seasonally from May 15 to October 15. The lower church holds services throughout the year, so it remains the part to visit outside the museum season.
