Palazzo Branciforti is a historic residence in Leonforte, Sicily, built in the early 17th century.

Palazzo Branciforti is a historic residence in Leonforte, Sicily, built in the early 17th century. Its position gives views over the surrounding area and the imposing Granfonte fountain in the square below. The palace was home to the Branciforti family for more than two centuries, but it is not reliably open to visitors and parts are in poor condition. Check access before making a special trip; even if you cannot go inside, the palace and fountain are landmarks to see from the square.

Construction began in the first decades of the 17th century. The palace became the home of Prince Nicolà Placido Branciforti and his family, who lived there until 1850. That year, Giuseppe Branciforti, the eighth and last prince, left Leonforte for Paris.

Workers from Rome and Palermo took part in the construction. Three master builders from Enna directed the work: Gianguzzo, Inglese and Calà. Gianguzzo also worked on the square in front of the palace.
