A church rebuilt after the Great Fire
St Lawrence Jewry stands across Guildhall Yard from London Guildhall, on the site of an earlier church destroyed in the Great Fire. The present church was designed by Sir Christopher Wren in the Baroque style.
Its name recalls the medieval Jewish community in London. Old Jewry, the street associated with the former Jewish quarter, lies less than 100 metres east along Gresham Street.
