Guanyinting Recreation Area is a seafront park in Magong, Penghu, within walking distance of the urban centre. Its landmark is the Rainbow Bridge, which crosses the piers and gives views over other parts of the island when the weather is clear. Locals jog, cycle and watch the sunset here, and the park is open around the clock. Each spring it is also the main viewing site for the International Fireworks Festival, with fireworks and drone shows over the water. The park takes its name from a popular historical temple, the Guanyin Temple, and is also known as Guanyin Temple Leisure Park and Guanyinting Recreation Area.

The Rainbow Bridge runs across the piers and can be reached from either side. It is about 200 feet long. On top, you can look out toward other sides of the island when the weather allows, so it is worth going up for a slow look around before you leave.

The International Fireworks Festival takes place here from mid April to mid June, usually on Monday and Thursday evenings. Shows combine drone displays with fireworks, and one season's fireworks lasted around 20 minutes while another ran for close to 30 minutes. Concerts are also held here during the season.

The festival themes change from year to year. One season used a Snoppy theme with a drone show of around 600 drones. Seating can be arranged for the shows, and the Night SUP package lets you watch from a surfboard on the water.

Around the grounds

Along the seafront you will find a permanent kids playground, a small night market by the entrance, and picnic tables with a barbecue grill. There is a public restroom, a dog park, a basketball court, a volleyball court and a tennis court, plus cycling lanes for riding along the water.
