MUHBA Vil•la Joana

MUHBA Vil·la Joana is a literature museum in Vallvidrera, within Collserola Natural Park. The two-storey masia has a watchtower and side galleries, with woodland and views around it. Inside, the exhibition follows the life of writer Verdaguer and includes his death bed, films about Barcelona culture and poems you can hear through old telephones in several languages. The house also has a history as a school for children with disabilities, adding another chapter to its story.

The house and its setting

Vil·la Joana stands in Vallvidrera, inside Collserola Natural Park. It is a two-storey masia, a traditional rural building found across the old Crown of Aragon. Its watchtower and lateral galleries give the house a distinctive outline within the wooded setting.

The property’s history extends beyond its architecture. It was also used as a school for children with disabilities, a part of the site’s past that the museum presents alongside its literary focus.
