The Chemistry Gallery is a contemporary art space in Hala 40 of Holešovická tržnice, in Prague’s Holešovice district. Set in a former electric works building, it presents urban art, street art and graffiti by young Czech and international artists. Exhibitions range from solo shows to group displays across two floors. Entry is free, and some works are available to buy at the gallery. Take time to speak with the exhibitors if you want context on the art.
A space for emerging artists
The gallery focuses on contemporary artists from the Czech Republic and abroad. Its programme includes urban art, street art and graffiti, with solo and group exhibitions by young artists.
The gallery also aims to connect contemporary visual art with the public and build ongoing relationships with selected artists. Exhibitions can introduce new artistic approaches and ideas.
Asking about or buying the art
Exhibitors can share information about the works on display, so ask them questions as you look around. Some pieces can be purchased directly from the gallery, and online portfolio presentations are available for people interested in buying remotely.
If you plan to have a purchase shipped internationally, check the delivery arrangements before committing. International shipping has caused problems for some buyers, so consider other delivery options or insurance.
