At the main entrance arch of Gorky Park in Moscow, this small museum traces the park’s story through photographs, artifacts and interactive displays. It gives context for a visit to the grounds, where the Moscow River embankment and wide pedestrian paths make room for walks and outdoor activities. The entrance arch itself is also a place to look up: its roof is noted for views across Moscow. Visit on a weekday for a quieter walk, and check the path conditions after rain.
Inside the entrance arch
The museum is located inside Gorky Park’s main entrance arch. Its displays tell the story of the park, from its Soviet-era years to its more recent changes. Photographs, artifacts and interactive exhibits give the small museum its focus: how the park has changed over time.
Continue into the park
After the museum, the grounds provide a different perspective on the same place. The park has a broad pedestrian embankment along the Moscow River, along with outdoor activities and events. Open-air cinema, yoga classes and beach sports are among the activities associated with the park; salsa dance nights are held on certain evenings. The entrance arch roof is another stop for views over Moscow.
