Kahuku Farms

Kahuku Farms brings together the land of two local farming families. The family-run operation spans four generations, and its café uses ingredients grown on the farm, including lilikoi, cacao, açaí and sweet papaya. It sits on Kamehameha Highway in Kahuku, on Oʻahu’s North Shore.

The café menu includes sandwiches, wraps, salads, pizzas, smoothies and iced drinks. Shaded outdoor tables sit near a lawn and gardens, so you can eat among the farm’s orchards and plantings. The grounds include avocado, lilikoi and noni plants.

Take a tour through the crops

Tractor-pulled wagon tours travel through the tropical fruit groves and introduce crops such as apple banana, lilikoi and pineapple. The 30-minute Smoothie Tour includes a fresh fruit smoothie; the fruit grown for the drinks includes papaya and apple banana.

The Grand Tour goes further into the crops and the realities of small- and medium-scale farming. Topics include the life cycle of a guava tree and how produce moves between island markets and markets farther afield. Guides also share information about the farm’s history and locally grown ingredients.

What to eat at the café

Açaí bowls and smoothies are among the café’s draws, alongside sandwiches and freshly made focaccia. Grilled banana bread comes with farm-made ice cream and haupia, a coconut topping, plus caramel sauce. For a drink with a local fruit flavor, order the lilikoi basil drink; lilikoi honey is another item to sample.

The menu changes with its farm-grown ingredients. The farm setting also makes the café a useful place to pause for lunch or a snack while exploring the North Shore.
