On the East River in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Domino Park occupies the former Domino Sugar Refinery site. Its lawns, waterfront path and elevated Artifact Walk give you several ways to take in the Manhattan skyline and Williamsburg Bridge. Look for the turquoise cranes and other industrial remnants, then head to the factory-inspired playground, volleyball courts or dog run. The park is a compact stop with plenty of places to sit; bring a blanket if you plan to picnic on the grass. Nearby Williamsburg restaurants and food spots make it easy to add a meal.

A park shaped by its refinery site

Domino Park occupies the former Domino Sugar Refinery site on the Williamsburg waterfront. The refinery operated for more than a century, closing in 2004. The park opened in 2018, bringing public lawns and paths to a stretch of the East River once used by the sugar works.

Industrial details remain part of the landscape. Turquoise shipping cranes recall the equipment that unloaded sugar from cargo ships, while other salvaged elements connect the park to the factory that stood here. The elevated Artifact Walk follows the waterfront and gives a closer look at these remnants alongside views of the river and Manhattan.

Play, walk and spend time by the river

The playground takes its design cues from sugar production. Climbing structures and slides give children room to explore, and water features offer a place to cool off in warm weather. Adults can watch from nearby seating or continue along the paths and lawns.

The park also has volleyball courts, a dog run and areas to sit or picnic. It is a relatively narrow waterfront green space, so the paths and seating can feel busy during popular afternoon and evening periods. Public restrooms are inside the former Domino building.

Views across the East River

The skyline and the Williamsburg Bridge are central to a visit. From the waterfront and elevated walkway, you can look across the East River toward Manhattan. The view changes as the sun sets and the buildings and bridge light up after dark.

For a slower stop, bring a blanket and take a seat on the lawn. If you want to combine the park with a meal, Williamsburg businesses and restaurants are close by.
