Casa de la Aduana was built in 1620 by the Franchy family. The government later took it over and used it as a customs office, as well as a residence for tax collectors and administrative staff. It is the only surviving civil building from its period in Puerto de la Cruz.

Its position beside the old port links the building to the town’s maritime past. Wooden details and a sea-facing internal patio give it the character of traditional Canarian architecture.
