Cala Xarraca is a small cove on Ibiza’s north coast, framed by pine-covered cliffs and clear, sheltered water. Its rocky, pebbled shore and underwater life make it a good stop for swimming and snorkelling; water shoes help with the uneven entry. Space is limited, but a natural pool offers a calmer place to cool off. Follow the rocky paths to quieter neighbouring coves, or walk about 10 minutes to the rope swing at Sa Punta Negra. A beachside bar and restaurant serves food and drinks.

Cala Xarraca

Cala Xarraca sits among pine trees and reddish cliffs on the quieter north coast of Ibiza. The sheltered bay is known for its clear water and rocky seabed, which make it a rewarding place to snorkel. Small islets sit offshore, and the headlands have paths leading around the coast.

The beach itself is small, with pebbles and rocks underfoot. Patches of dried seagrass can lie on the shore, and seaweed may collect where you enter the water. Bring water shoes if you prefer firmer footing.

The rocky paths lead to smaller neighbouring coves. Sa Cova de Xarraca is around the rocks to the right, while Es Canaret lies beyond the headland to the left. The natural pool is another option for a sheltered swim and is noted as suitable for children.

Sa Punta Negra’s rope swing is about a 10-minute walk away. The coastal routes are exposed, so carry drinking water and sun protection. Natural mud baths are also associated with the cove, but conditions can change and the mud may dry out in peak summer.

Parking and food by the water

A small free car park sits by the cove and can fill quickly, particularly in peak season. The road down is steep, so allow for a careful drive and consider arriving early if you need to park nearby.

A beachside bar and restaurant serves drinks, fresh fish and paella. The cove’s limited space and rocky shore suit a swim-and-snorkel stop better than a long stretch of sandy beach lounging. Later in the afternoon, parts of the shore get shade.
