Galerie Blanche

Galerie Blanche is a contemporary art gallery at 218 Rue St-Paul Ouest in Old Montréal, with works by artists from Québec and across Canada. Its exhibitions pair a restrained setting with a range of modern art, and staff can explain the artists and ideas behind the pieces. Take time to look at the works from different angles, or ask about a piece that catches your eye. The gallery is also a short walk from Notre-Dame Basilica, making it easy to add to a visit to the neighbourhood.

Contemporary art in Old Montréal

Galerie Blanche presents contemporary art by artists from Québec and elsewhere in Canada. The programme includes emerging artists as well as established names, giving you a chance to encounter different approaches to current Canadian art in one visit.

The gallery’s presentation is restrained, keeping attention on the works and the artists behind them. If a piece interests you, staff can share information about its artist and the ideas that inform the work. You can also ask to see a piece in different lighting, which may help when you are comparing works or considering a purchase.

Appointments, commissions and shipping

You can visit during the gallery’s regular opening hours or contact the gallery to arrange an appointment. After-hours appointments are also possible, a useful option if your schedule in Montréal is tight. For a more focused visit, ask ahead about a specific artist or work you hope to see.

Galerie Blanche can help clients commission work by artists it represents. The process described by clients includes discussing a vision with the gallery and having it conveyed to the artist. The gallery also arranges shipping, including international delivery; contact the team for details about a particular work and destination.
