Papaoneone Beach is on Oʻahu’s west side, in Mākaha, with a quiet shoreline and sunset views. The water can be clear around the coral, where snorkeling brings a chance to see fish; bodyboarding suits experienced riders when surf is up. A path up Turtle Rock gives a view over the coast, and Mauna Lahilahi, a culturally significant small mountain, rises at the beach’s western end. Strong currents and no lifeguards call for caution in the water.

Papaoneone Beach is in Mākaha on Oʻahu’s western coast. The beach access lies between the condos near Lahilahi Street, with roadside parking nearby. Mauna Lahilahi, a small mountain with cultural significance, marks the western end of the sand.

Rocks extend into the water on the left side. The sheltered area inside them has clear water, white sand and fish, making it a place to explore with a snorkel when conditions allow.

Surf can be large in winter, and waves can break close to shore in other seasons too. Bodyboarding is better suited to experienced riders when the surf is strong. Conditions in the water can be hazardous, including strong rip currents, and there are no lifeguards on the beach.

The west-facing setting gives the beach its sunset views. Humpback whales pass through from October to May, and spinner dolphins can be seen throughout the year.
