Casela Nature Parks is a wildlife and adventure park on Royal Road in Cascavelle, a short drive from Flic en Flac. It covers about 350 hectares beside Rempart Mountain and is split into five zones, from thrill rides to a bird area and a kids' park. The safari drive brings zebras, giraffes, deer, ostriches and rhinos close to the vehicle. Staff are friendly and well informed, and the animals look well cared for. Plan for a half day or a full day, depending on how many activities you add.
Five zones in one park

The park spans about 350 hectares and is divided into five zones: Thrill Mountain, Predator Kingdom, African Safari, Pangia Birds, and Rides and Kids Park. Each zone has its own focus, so you can move from big cats to birds to rides without leaving the grounds.
The park is in the southwest of Mauritius, beside Rempart Mountain. It has free parking, and the main entrance and restrooms are wheelchair accessible.
The safari drive and the big cats

The safari drive is included in the entrance ticket. It passes through the African savannah, where zebras, giraffes, deer, ostriches and rhinos roam. Guides explain what you are seeing as you go.
Lion and tiger encounters are sold separately. A bus safari takes you to the big cat areas, and walking with lions is available as an extra. Segway rides through some enclosures are also on offer.
In the Yemen Reserve, a wide savannah inside the park, you can ride a quad bike among animals that move freely around you. Quad biking has not always been running, so check on the day if it matters to your plans.
Birds, turtles and camels
Pangia Birds houses a wide range of species, including the endemic and endangered pink pigeon. It is a quieter part of the day, and a good place to rest between the more active zones.
The turtles live in a large enclosure that you can walk through freely. Feeding them costs extra. Camel feeding and feeding ostriches and llamas are also among the hands-on options.
The giraffe deck lets you see giraffes from above and, with an additional ticket, feed them.
Getting around the park
Buses run between the stops about every 30 minutes, and the entrance ticket covers access to every stop. You can walk only in areas marked for walking, so use the bus to move between zones.
To reach the activities, buy extras at the entry gate or near the start point of each one. Ticket prices are not listed here, so check the official website before you go.
