Parc Boverie sits on an island in the Meuse, with river channels on both sides, in the centre of Liège. The park has wide lawns, tall shade trees, ponds and a flower garden. Its main building is La Boverie, a museum of European art that includes works by Malevitch, Picasso and Monet. Sculptures stand around the grounds, and the train station is a short walk away. Come for a riverside walk, a picnic, or a visit to the galleries.

An island between the Meuse channels

Parc Boverie

The park occupies an island in the Meuse, so the river runs on both sides of the grounds. From the park, the Passerelle La Belle Liégeoise pedestrian bridge leads to Rue Paradis and on to Guillemins Station, the railway station designed by the architect Calatrava.

The riverside section of the park covers about 1.5 km of path, and the river path continues along the water beyond it. Pick a route that follows the river and you can walk the park edge to edge without leaving the banks.

La Boverie is the building at the heart of the park. Its collection is of European art, and it has grown over the years. Visitors have noticed works by Malevitch, Picasso and Monet among a wide range of other pieces.

The museum is small, so it fits easily into a visit to the park. Sculptures are placed through the grounds, so you can see them outside as well as in the galleries.
