SkyView Atlanta

SkyView Atlanta is a 200-foot Ferris wheel at 168 Luckie St NW, next to Centennial Olympic Park. The wheel opened to the public in 2013 and has 42 enclosed gondolas. From about 20 stories up, you can look over the park and downtown Atlanta, with views of nearby buildings and landmarks including the CNN Center, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the Westin Peachtree Plaza.

Large windows give you room to take in the skyline during the ride. The gondolas are climate controlled, so the enclosed setting keeps the trip comfortable in different weather. The ride lasts around 8 to 15 minutes, depending on the account of the ride, and includes several rotations.

Daylight, dusk and city lights

The view changes with the light. During the day, the height gives you a clear perspective on Centennial Olympic Park and the surrounding downtown streets. Near sunset, the skyline takes on the warmer light of dusk. After dark, building lights come into view, and colored lights outline the Ferris wheel’s rim and spokes.

The Olympic park area is close by, and the wheel’s elevation gives you a view across the district. An evening ride may also let you see the water light display in the park. The display is tied to special events, so check what is scheduled rather than assuming it will be running on your visit.

Standard and VIP gondolas

The standard enclosed gondolas are climate controlled and offer the same elevated view of downtown. Two gondolas are wheelchair accessible. If you want a different ride, the VIP option has Ferrari-style seats and a glass floor, and its ride is extended. A reservation is required for the VIP gondola; standard rides do not require reservations.

SkyView is close to other downtown attractions, including the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola and the Center for Civil and Human Rights. That makes it easy to pair the ride with a visit elsewhere in the district. Ticket bundle and discount offers have appeared through outside platforms, but availability can change, so check the current options before setting your budget.
